The Apple iPhone 3G vs. T-Mobile’s G1 vs. the BlackBerry Storm. Which is best? Here’s a quick take on the pros and cons of each.

BlackBerry Storm Pros

Offers what is easily the best e-mail program for business users

Allows you to edit Word and Excel attachments (the others don’t!)

Blackberry Storm Cons

No wi-fi (how could they??)

Web browsing on its 3.25-inch screen isn’t as fluid as it could be

A bit slow at times to exit an application (app) or load a photo

Apple iPhone 3G Pros

Undoubtedly the best-looking web browser and the largest screen (3.5 inches)

Definitely the most accurate touchscreen (you seldom hit the link next to the one that you intended to touch)

Its 3G connection is fast!

Apple iPhone 3G Cons

Sometimes it should be within 3G range, but instead it drops to the slower EDGE network

Applications sometimes randomly crash, sending you back to the home screen.

T-Mobile G1 Pros

It’s fairly easy to navigate the web on its 3.2-inch screen

It actually has a real keyboard which slides out from under the screen

A special button brings up a Google search bar with one touch

T-Mobile G1 Cons

Its zoom function is a bit clumsy

High-speed coverage is good where it’s available, but it’s still somewhat limited, because T-Mobile’s network is still young (just 120 major U.S. cities covered up to now)

So that’s my take on ‘em. Which is your favorite??

Some time last month, Apple previewed its upcoming iPhone 3.0 software which will run on all iPhone and iPod Touch devices later this year. In a word, it looks like it will be AMAZING. This is a major software release for the iPhone platform and it’s packed with over 100 new features and innovations – yet another nail in the coffins of those mobile smart phones that would like to believe that they’re in the same league as the iPhone.

Noteworthy improvements to the user experience include a few subtle changes as well as some game-changing new features. Starting with the basics, Cut, Copy and Paste for text and pictures has finally made it to the iPhone. Landscape Keyboards in all primary applications, Multimedia Messaging (MMS) and Voice Memos as well. These are relatively basic features which have been missing from previous version of the iPhone.

These have been basic features which have been missing from the phone since it was released.

New innovative features include Spotlight search in every application AND across the entire phone. That is, you can search across the hundreds of applications in your device as well as in your music and videos without having to navigate any menus. How about that! Turn by turn navigation using GPRS has also been enabled – thus allowing for real time directions while driving. Wireless Bluetooth headphones and speakers are also now supported under the A2DP standard. Plus lots of other new features.

Undoubtedly the new iPhone 3.0 platform will provide the base necessary to drive the continuation of the growing iPhone App Store and fuel the overall success of the device. I can’t wait!

It combines an elegant, compact design with a wide range of cool and popular features including easier access to social networking sites. As someone that lives on Facebook and Twitter, this has made it easier for me to stay connected with all my contacts – friends, family and business associates.

The Blackberry Curve 8900 is full of pluses – it has a sleek, stylish design along with an extraordinarily large and vivid display screen (480×360 resolution) which is the highest resolution that’s available for any Blackberry smartphone. The 8900 also has a wicked-fast 512 MHz next-generation which makes it very responsive to your finger instructions.

Other great features of the Blackberry Curve 8900 – a 3.2 megapixel camera that comes with an image stabilization feature, digital zoom, flash and the ability to record video. Another standard and really cool component is a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and headset (listen to your music at the gym or on the way to work or whatever!). It also includes a swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot that supports up to 16GB of storage per card. That’s tonnes of music, pictures, files and whatever else that you can carry wherever your Blackberry goes.

In a word, this phone is simply awesome. Hands down it’s a great buyif you want a truly cool, sleek, full-featured smartphone.
