He’s Just Not That Into You is a romantic comedy film that was directed by Ken Kwapis. It stars Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connelly, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Drew Barrymore, and is based on the self-help book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, which, in turn, was based on a line of dialogue in Sex and the City.
Set in Baltimore, the movie chronicles the romantic misadventures of nine individuals in their twenties and thirties. The common thread of the story is that one person in each relationship is more enamored with the other person.
I found it to be an enjoyable “chick flick” that might make you view intimate relationships differently. It has a few clichés, but it is cleverly written, particularly with regard to its shameless exploration of the ‘rules’ of relationships and the “dating game”. The cast of course, is a big name A-list cast, so match that with a few funny moments throughout and we have a movie that turns out to be quite enjoyable.
